Project Info

Ahead of the Winter Olympics in Italy, we set out to create content that would generate genuine surprise and shareability. The challenge with Olympic content is saturation: every brand runs flag graphics and athlete footage. We took the opposite approach, hyperbolising the sport itself and placing it where it has no business being. A giant curling stone rolling down an Italian city street, with real pedestrians reacting in real time.

Key Details

The concept was built around one core principle: if it looks like it could almost be real, people will share it to find out if it is. We composited a photorealistic oversized CGI curling stone into actual street footage from an Italian city, matching reflections, ground shadows and motion blur frame by frame. The scale contrast between the enormous stone and ordinary street life created the wow effect. Sound design completed the illusion, with the grinding ice sound layered against city ambience.

Result

This video generated nearly 7× more views than other content on the same page. The reason is simple: impossibility placed in a believable context creates compulsive shareability. Viewers watch it twice, once to enjoy it and once to figure out how it was done. That double-view behaviour is what drives algorithmic reach without a single euro of media spend.
