MAD CGI produced a Ghibli-inspired CGI visual using a combination of hand-crafted 3D environments, soft volumetric lighting and painterly texture work that evoked the distinctive look of Studio Ghibli's animation style. The production required a departure from the studio's typical hyper-realistic approach — instead favouring a softer, more illustrative rendering style that retained dimensional depth while referencing the warmth and wonder of traditional hand-drawn animation.
